Aapka: a Hindi-first healthcare platform for rural India
Aapka helps people in rural India find hospitals, book doctors, order lab tests and medicines, and look after their family's health, in Hindi and English. We designed it, built it and run it.
Services involved
Fig 4.1Context
Where it started.
Aapka is a healthcare platform for rural and blue-collar customers in India. The owner needed something their users could actually use: a mobile app, a back office for hospitals and partners, and integrations with diagnostics networks. Many users were first-time smartphone owners who read Hindi and preferred to speak rather than type.
Fig 4.2Challenge
What made it hard.
- 01
Design for low literacy, low-end phones and intermittent connectivity
- 02
Integrate diagnostics partners with very different APIs, statuses and webhooks
- 03
Support roles beyond customers: field health workers, hospitals, labs, corporate clients
- 04
Keep a live production system stable while shipping fixes every week
Fig 4.3What we built
Delivered, end to end.
- 01
Flutter app for Android and iOS with voice search on every search bar
- 02
Full Hindi and English interface generated from a single string source, so the two can never drift apart
- 03
Admin console with bulk uploads, role management and audit trails
- 04
Connector layer for diagnostics partners: serviceability, pricing, slots, booking, status webhooks and PDF reports, with a kill switch per partner
- 05
Radius and pincode-based dispatch of field health workers with transparent fallback and full admin visibility
- 06
Multi-vendor carts, slot booking, wallets, coupons and GST invoices generated on demand
- 07
Automated end-to-end suites, a demo video for every feature and a client-facing issue tracker
- 08
Production migration from shared hosting to AWS; dev and demo environments on Oracle Cloud
Fig 4.4How we worked
The way we did it.
- 01
Local-first development with Docker, then a demo server for the client's QA team, then production releases on their schedule
- 02
Every QA round answered with a plain-language tracker: the complaint, the verdict, the fix and how to test it
- 03
Seed data designed so every feature is exercised in QA, not just present in the code
- 04
A Hindi review sheet for the owner, so every translation was checked by a human before shipping
Fig 4.5Outcomes
What changed.
- 01
Aapka is in daily production use on Android and iOS, with releases shipping continuously
- 02
Users who could not use the previous app completing bookings on this one
- 03
Partner lab integrations proven end to end on sandbox and production systems
- 04
Paperwork customers need for reimbursement available on the phone

MeraDhan: a savings platform for rural India
MeraDhan is designed to help families in small towns and villages save small amounts regularly, through a trusted local agent or directly on their phone. We built the business plan and investor presentation that took it to its first investors.
- HR & Staffing
HRMS and payroll platform blueprint for a 2,000-employee staffing company
A staffing company with two thousand employees working at client sites is replacing a spreadsheet and an off-the-shelf HR tool with its own system for attendance, leave, payroll and compliance. We produced the complete blueprint for it.
